​The Clayton Museum of Ancient History collects, researches, preserves, exhibits, and interprets objects with a special focus on the ancient world. It features the C. Foster Stanback Collection with displays including artifacts from the Ancient Near East and Rome.

Kids of all ages will enjoy the Little Kingdom, an interactive discovery space, that invites guests to join an archaeological dig, visit an Israelite home, walk a Roman road and shop in a Roman market.

 

*This museum is located at York University, in the Lower Level of the Mackey Center.

Group tours and other times by appointment.
Closed on holidays and during York University holiday breaks.

There is no cost for admission to the museum although donations are encouraged.

Groups are welcome to tour the Clayton Museum of Ancient History. Groups can opt for an independent or self-guided time in the museum. Guided tours may be arranged ahead of time for regular museum hours or at other specially arranged times. Guided tours are led by staff or a docent.

• Guided tours may last anywhere from 30 minutes to one hour depending on the needs, ages, and interests of the group.
• There is no fee for any self-guided tour by groups or individuals during regular operating hours. Guided tours are provided for a charge of $1 per guest with a minimum fee of $25.
• Tours can include an overview of the museum, its origin, and background information about the collection. It is strongly suggested that every tour for younger audiences include plenty of time for play in the Little Kingdom.
• Options include tours designed for touring groups, Bible classes and other church groups, public school classes or after school programs, home school groups, and others.
